Geneva is the second-most populated city in Switzerland, which comes only after Zürich. The city is situated beside the place where the river Rhône meets Lake Geneva. Geneva is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva. In true sense the city can be described as a global city hosting headquarters of several international organizations, like United Nations and the International Red Cross.

While you are in Geneva, few places are there which you should never miss. If you love shopping the Rue du Rhône is the ideal place for you. You get to see outlets of all the famous luxury brands like Chanel, Tod's, Dior, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, etc., in one place. The glitters and glamour will definitely keep you awestruck.

The Red Cross Museum in Geneva has great historical significance. It is the birthplace of International Red Cross. The museum proudly boasts the history of service to the mankind and humanity that all started by Henri Dunant in the 19th century.

Lake Geneva and it’s Jet d’eau and gardens will leave you spellbound. Take the cruises on Lake Geneva while enjoying the picturesque views of the castles, monuments, and the Jet d’eau, the remarkable 147-metre tall fountain. The spectacular flower clock inside the gardens of Lake Geneva is another must see.

There are some Ski resorts and adventurous hiking paths in Jura Mountains near St.-Cergues. This place is just 45 min away from Geneva where you can enjoy cross-country skis. Have fun on the kiddie’s hill and more difficult adventures skiing in Verbier, Gstaad, or Champéry in Swiss Alps, or the Chamonix and Mégève, which are on the French side.

Swiss watch and clock museum should be your next halt to get a glimpse of the eventful history of famous Swiss clock making. Geneva is among the few cities in Europe where you can enjoy a tram ride. In other words, Geneva has everything to offer to make your family vacation memorable.
