Another jail converted into a hotel in Sweden
From here you always commented on hotels and tourist establishments with different proposals and we have already spoken of prisons that have been remodeled to become places of accommodation.
So here goes ... This is another one of the first prisons were built in Sweden, more precisely in Stockholm and received the name of Långholmen.
The building, dating from the nineteenth century is located on an island to which can be accessed either by sea or by road and stopped to accommodate prisoners in 1975. Fourteen years later began remodeling that transformed the cells in modern rooms have a comfortable bed, TV and radio, telephone service and cleanliness.
The former prison has been recycled in a way that offers services on the one hand of a charming hotel while on the other hand the proposal is cheaper and is aimed at young budget cut.
In addition, the original entry of Långholmen at present serves as the reception in addition to a cafeteria that serves 24 hours and to not forget the origins of the building, the hotel has assembled a small museum where you can observe objects and photographs different times related to the lives of the "guests" who passed through the place.
This is definitively the prison one would love to rush for. I never thought a jail could be turned into a luxury hotel. In some countries, I read, corrupt politicians turn their prison cells into a royal hotel room, permanently, as they visit them quite frequently. But this is the reverse case, which is equally exciting for peace-loving travels!!
