The Agrasen Ki Baoli that is dedicated to Maharaja Agresen is a step well with a rare architectural magnificence. A part of it remains immersed in water always. It is a 14th century structure built by the Agarwal community on what we know today as Hailey Road, on the very busy Connuaght Place. The rare Tughlaqi architectural structure consist of three levels of which one is submerged in water while the other two are made up of beautifully arched structures.
The Hauz Khas (Royal Tank) consists of some gorgeous monuments of the Mogul period. The Hauz-i-Alai Tank was originally built by Sultan Alaudin Khilji in the 13th – 14 th centuries B.C. to supply water to Siri which has the tomb of Firoz Shah Tughlaq, a mosque and a madrasa (college for Islamic studies) on its eastern and southern sides. At present, Haus Khas is the area around the tank and is considered to be one on the most posh areas of Delhi. You can get rare collections of ethnic wear and decorative items. The Hauz Khas Village is a designer’s haven. A restricted forest, know as Deer Park just outside the Hauz Khas monument is a walker’s delight. You should also visit the Haus Khas enclave, the Lotus, and the Kalkaji Temples, Chirag Dehli’s Dargah and the Nizamuddin Shrine that are located in the nearby areas.
