The city of Dresden in Germany
The city of Dresden is located just 2 hours from Berlin in northern Germany, has about 480,000 inhabitants and, for some, is considered one of the most beautiful in this country and is one of the cities that attracts more tourists during throughout the year.
Earlier this place was almost completely destroyed, suffered the battles of World War II and until he was in possession of Austria. Dresden currently in the process of rebuilding continues for more than 15 years but they can never forget these events in the history of this city.
Dresden is divided into two sectors because of the river Elbe which lies in between the two, although there are several bridges that cross the river and joins the two sides.
Some of the most important historical sites are the historic center of Dresden, the Frauenkirche Church, the Museum of the City or Zwinger, the Palace of Gottfried Semper Opera, the Royal Palace, the Dresden Cathedral, the Plaza and the park Altmarkt Grob Garten.
There are many ways to reach this site, by plane, train or automobile. The trains are connected with major cities of Germany.
Dresden is a city of high culture and the arts at the international level. The city has a valuable art collections, corporations known musical and significant buildings of many eras. Generally, the buildings are occupied by significant cultural institutions. Most are in their buildings and institutions that have been developed separately. Every year visitors come from Germany and the rest of the world to participate in numerous activities related to the Art, Science and Technology. Worthy of mention is the gearing between art and science and technology, which can be recognized in many collections.
The shield of the city was divided into two parts golden; left in a golden lion, in the other two vertical black bars. The lion represents Mark Meißen, slashes to the Mark Landsberg, who dominated the city in the late Middle Ages. The two symbols of the arms used since the fourteenth century in the seals of the city. Previously, the bars were blue (compare with the coats of Leipzig and Chemnitz), but was later changed to distinguish the shield of the Meißen-Landsberg. The colors of the city are yellow and black.
