We have already visited some sites are representative of the Mayan culture within the territory of Belize, such as the ruins of Xunantunich or the spectacular cave Actun Tunichil Muknal, but today we will talk a little town that houses an impressive historical legacy of the same civilization, and that is known as Lamanai, which means "submerged crocodile".

Belize is a country that is known for its superb scenery and especially on the wonderful legacy of the Mayan culture, a civilization that swept through Central America, leaving us important and valuable archaeological treasures.

Within its precious relics are a series of caves and caverns located in the basement that are covered and, in some cases, by rivers that allow us to get into them through a fantastic canoe trip.

Beaches and history in Cartagena de Indias

Cartagena de Indias, is the capital of the department of Bolivar in Colombia and the fifth city in the country in population and importance. Since 1991, Cartagena is a tourist and cultural district. The city is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea and is one of the epicenters tourist areas in Colombia as the second-largest urban center in the Colombian Caribbean, after Barranquilla.

The people of tayronas formed a pre Taino of the family. Inhabited the department of Magdalena, on the northern side of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, including the rivers Guachaca, Don Diego, and Buritaca and the low coastal area fall within the Tayrona National Park. The word "Tayrona" (Taino-ana = La Nacion of Taino) was used by the Spanish chroniclers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries to refer to these stocks in generic terms.
