Geneva is the second-most populated city in Switzerland, which comes only after Zürich. The city is situated beside the place where the river Rhône meets Lake Geneva. Geneva is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva. In true sense the city can be described as a global city hosting headquarters of several international organizations, like United Nations and the International Red Cross.

If you want to travel the world, make Fribourg, one of the most beautiful towns of Switzerland with a quaint ambience, a top priority holiday destination. It is located 34 kms to the southwest of Bern. Enjoy the serene environment that the River Sarine creates around itself. This old fashioned township with well-constructed streets and lamp shades made of wrought-iron and artistic signboard on the inns carries a distinctive beauty that is characteristic of a medieval place. There are the old time wooden bridges and houses built in medieval style on the slopes.

Engelberg in Switzerland is one of the most beautiful hill resorts. It is situated 1050 m above sea level and you can enjoy the ambience of this place that is endowed with exceptional natural beauty both in winter and summer. The major attractions of this city are the Benedictine Monastery, Mount Titlis, and the adventure sport activities that are conducted during summer and also during the winter. You can also relax on the countryside. You can really enjoy the cable car rides or hike up the mountains.

Berne is the Bundesstadt (de Facto Captial) of Switzerland and is the fifth highly populated city of this beautiful country. Berne has a lot of interesting sightseeing venues for you. You can start with the Bear Pits and Park which bear a historical asociation to the name of the city. Berchtold V von Zähringen, who founded Berne, killed a bear at that place due to which the city was so named. An interesting pastime that you can engage yourself in Berne is by taking part in its much famed bike rides. Davos, an exquisite holiday destination in Eastern Switzerland, is located in the Davos Valley on the Landwasser River. It comprises of two villages- Davos-Platz and Davos Dorf. It is located 5,118 feet above sea level on the Alps. It is a very popular winter sports center. You can take a sports ticket to the O’Neill SB-Jam Davos – a gala snowboarding event that takes place in the months of December and January. An international hiking rally is also held in September at Davos. The world Economic Forum is held in Davos annually in January. The young Artists in Concert is a gala event that attracts musicians from all over the world.

Narkanda being the destination of a much-awaited outing didn’t really got me excited. Reasons being first, I had never heard about the place and, second, I had wanted to venture somewhere near the sea. But constant persuasion from my friends, forced me to go along, and we set off to our destination, which I didn’t regret going, later on.

A Small town, steeped in interesting history is Kushinagar. It was here that Lord Buddha breathe his last in 486 BC. Kushinagar is a simplicity personified. Even after being given a certain international status, it remains a simple town, both in look and spirit. One would be surprised to see the flocking together of Sinhalese, Japanese, Burmese, and Vietnamese under this traditionally Indian roof. Its Lord Buddha's power which binds them all and this can be easily felt in this dusty town.

Come September and Leh opens its gates to a rollicking Ladakh Festival, which takes center stage. This is an effort to revive and showcase the richness of Ladakh's centuries old culture. The festival begins with a pageantry in which various cultural troops and village contingents participate in ceremonial regalia, singing, and dancing. Some of the regular programs during this festival are Lama dances, mock marriages, re-living the silk route, archery, and polo events.

Mother nature has been extra generous in her bounty creating a paradise on earth. I am talking about Manipur also known as the, " Switzerland of the east". It is an oval shaped valley surrounded by blue green hills. For nature lovers Manipur would turnout to be a great discovery promising tourist attraction of the 21st century. It cascades large carpets of flowers with exotic blooms, tripling rivers and lazy lakes.
