Knowing Cayos Cochinos in Honduras
For our next trip we went to Honduras, more precisely some Caribbean islands of coral formation that constitute a tourist really beautiful.
We are talking about Cayos Cochinos, a paradise environment that is considered Biological Reserve since 1993 and Natural Monument Marino since 2003.
These keys are located in front of the second largest barrier reef in the world, making it an ideal place for lovers of diving in their different ways, being able to appreciate different species such as blankets, dolphins, turtles, octopuses, cuttlefish, etc.
Because of the degree of protection that the authorities have given to this area is still at large conservation status as the business and urbanization have not increased significantly.
With regard to housing many visitors opt to stay in simple homes that provide residents to learn more about their customs and also enjoy the delicious cuisine.
This small but beautiful group of islands and cays of the Honduran Caribbean is located near the coast, almost in front of La Ceiba. The set is visible from this port city in clear day, and even when it appears as an island of medium size, in fact consists of 13 small islands and cays.
Biological Reserve was declared by Congress in 1993, Marine and Natural monument in 2003, Cayos Cochinos is a paradise which fortunately is protected by law.
